Surely He hath borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him.
Isaiah 53:4-5

LOVE the Word® is a Bible study method based on Mary’s own practice: lectio without the Latin. Get the book based on her method in the right margin, How to Pray Like Mary.
L – Listen (Receive the Word.)
O – Observe (Choose one or more of the following personality approaches to connect the passage to your life and recent events.)
I never read Isaiah 53 without hearing Young Messiah’s He Hath Borne in my heavy heart.
V – Verbalize (Pray about your thoughts and emotions.)
Remembering that He loves you and that you are in His presence, talk to God about the particulars of your O – Observe step. You may want to write your reflections in your LOVE the Word® journal. Or, get a free journal page and guide in the right-hand margin.
E – Entrust (May it be done to me according to your word!)
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us. Amen.+

Thank you Sonja for this wonderful study and for your perseverance to give this to us. What a feast of God’s word you lay before us! What a Lent we are all having…..the whole world has been put into Lent. My prayer is that we truly wake up as the Church and because of this scourge in our land we will repent and see what God our Father does and wants to do. I came into the Catholic Church 3 years ago this Easter (my husband,Mike, just came in on Epiphany of this year!). ….like you we have been following Jesus for a long time… since 1974….3 months after we eloped at 19 , we met Jesus and ( 4 kids…their spouses and 11 grandchildren later)….have been following Him ever since. He continues to turn our world upside down. We are in Erie,Pa and attend Father Larry’s parish…. we are so blessed to have him. I have heard you speak here twice but it wasn’t until this fall when I read the book “Fearless” that I started to listen and read more of what you teach…. and am now reading “Exulted” and “How to pray like Mary”. ..and listening weekly. It’s all helping me draw closer even more. Thank you and thank God! I am a friend of your show and want to know how to get the premium content? God bless you Sonja! Love in Christ❤️ Susan

The study and the “He Hath Born” were truly a blessing for me!!! Thank you, Sonja! You have really changed my life and my heart. I am in Word and loving the Word more than before. When you said that God is speaking to us EVERYDAY in the daily readings, it made my heart burn for more of the Word. When I was 8 months old, I was abandoned by my parents. I was placed in an orphanage and then placed in a foster home at 13 months. This home would become my forever home. When I was 8 years old, the adoption was finalized. I didn’t know what that meant. So I searched the dictionary to figure out what that word meant. Then it became clear. These were not my parents. I was so heartbroken wondering why my parents had given me up. When I was about 10 years old I was at Sunday Mass and the first reading was from Isaiah 49:15 “Can a mother forget the child in her womb?” The reader repeated it. I grabbed my missalette and began to follow along. I repeated “Isaiah 49 over and over in my head so that I could read it in my bible when I got home. I felt that God was speaking to me telling me that it was okay that my parents gave me up because he would never forget me since I was carved in the palm of his hand. To this day, I believe that He has had a plan for me and my life. I believe that His Word is sharper than a two-edged sword!!!
AMEN! Thank you, again for your ministry!
Amen! Gave me tears. Thank you : )
