Part of the beauty of the sacraments is that God cares for and provides for us through them from birth to the last breath. Throughout the series, we are discussing the sacraments in that order: Baptism for new birth, Eucharistic nourishment, Reconciliation as medicine, Confirmation to sustain one’s holy witness, Marriage and Holy Orders for life-giving vocation, and Anointing for healing and the final journey home. There are seven sacraments, for complete preservation and salvation throughout human life. Glorious!

LOVE the Word® is a Bible study method based on Mary’s own practice: lectio without the Latin. Get the book based on Sonja’s method in the right margin, How to Pray Like Mary.
L – Listen (Receive the Word.)
O – Observe (Connect the passage to your life and recent events.)
Have the quarantine and withheld public Masses changed the way you view the privilege of receiving the Eucharist? What are your thoughts on God removing His presence from His people throughout salvation history in times when they had abandoned Him?
V – Verbalize (Pray about your thoughts and emotions.)
Perhaps you’d like to tell Jesus how much you miss Him in the Eucharist.
Remembering that He loves you and that you are in His presence, talk to God about the particulars of your O – Observe step. You may want to write your reflections in your LOVE the Word® journal. Or, get a free journal page and guide in the right-hand margin.
E – Entrust (May it be done to me according to your word!)
Grant us, we pray, Almighty God, restoration of your Eucharist to us, your people, and that the true divinity of your Only Begotten Son, which we firmly profess with all the Saints, may, through the Sacrament of the Eucharist, ever give us life and protection. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.+
